NEO Medical Center is proud to showcase a new look and some additional faces, adding to a strong tradition of family practice in Miami.
For more than 25 years, Martin Grotheer, MD, has been practicing at the clinic located at 10 S. Treaty Road. Dr. Grotheer, along with Dr. Fred Ray, built the practice, caring for thousands of area families throughout the years.
Following Dr. Ray’s passing, several changes have been made to the clinic to accommodate patients of NEO Medical Center. In addition to the long-established laboratory and x-ray services, new imaging equipment has been added to allow patients to receive state-of-the-art diagnostic testing right in the office.
Ultrasound
Although we most often think of an ultrasound as giving a sneak peak at a growing baby, the sophisticated test is being used to identify and help treat a great number of conditions. NEO Medical Center is pleased to offer this service.
Doppler echocardiogram
This particular ultrasound is now used to diagnose heart issues. This test is used to look at how blood flows through the heart chambers, heart valves and blood vessels. The movement of the blood reflects sound waves to a transducer. The ultrasound computer then measures the direction and speed of the blood flowing through your heart and blood vessels. This test can be performed at NEO Medical Center and the results will be forwarded to your cardiologist.
Bone density
NEO Medical Center also now offers in-house bone density scanning, most commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis. Ask your physician for more details about this exam.
