We consider Vinita one of Oklahoma 's best kept secrets, and we're glad to share the secret with you. You'll find Vinita a great place to be. We have a beautifully restored, historic shopping district; with a wide variety of shops and boutiques. While here you can enjoy savory dining, play in our municipal parks, and study our history in the Eastern Trails Museum.

You will not find kinder smiles, or more helpful hands, than those of the citizens who love Vinita and want to share it's charm with others. Don't miss our many events focusing on our community's rich cowboy culture, such as the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo or the World's Largest Calf Fry Festival in September. Vinita is a great place to visit or live.

Vinita is the second oldest town in Oklahoma and is the oldest incorporated one on Oklahoma Route 66. Anyone interested in learning more about Vinita's history is invited to visit the Eastern Trails Museum . The museum boasts an extensive collection of historically important photographs; artifacts; as well as, information on Vinnie Ream, Will Rogers and other noted figures. The museum houses an excellent collection of firearms, including relics of the Battle of Cabin Creek. The battle is reenacted with near perfect precision at a site near the original location every third year in October.

Summerside Vineyards & Winery, one of Oklahoma's premier wineries offers free wine tasting, a beautiful gift shop, bistro and Farmers' Market. You will find delightful special events hosted all year long. The art gallery is a must see, featuring a special professional artist each month. Plan a visit to Summerside Vineyard & Winery located at the I-44 Vinita Exit and Historic Route 66.

Vinita is in the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery under the sun, and just a short distance from a variety of recreational activities. Grand Lake O'the Cherokees is just a short drive from Vinita. The shoreline is 1,300 miles long with over 60 miles winding through the foothills of the Ozarks. Grand lake offers fishing, boating, sailing, swimming, water skiing, beaches, camping, picnic areas, and resorts.

Thank you for letting us share our secrets with you. We hope to see you soon in our community. In the meantime, please explore the following links:
