Craig General Hospital 's Ruth Joy Birthing Center offers a family-centered
maternity program designed to make you, your physician, and our staff
partners in providing a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for your
baby's birth.
Beautiful, private suites allow new mothers to stay in the same room
throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care. Attractive
decor, lovely oak furnishings, a private restroom/shower and other amenities
add to the homelike atmosphere. While the suites resemble comfy bedrooms,
necessary obstetrical equipment is just steps away to assist in the birth.
Several options are available for comfort measures. Our nurses coach
mothers in various breathing and relaxation techniques. Expectant mothers
who are interested in medical pain relief, such as epidural anesthesia,
should consult with their physician prior to delivery. A Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetist is available at Craig General Hospital to administer
medical pain relief.
If your baby needs special care immediately after delivery, contact
is made with Eastern Oklahoma Perinatal Center (EOPC). A specially trained
neonatal transport team helps bring babies to The Children's Hospital
at Saint Francis in Tulsa in a specially equipped medical van or by Tulsa
LifeFlight.
Numerous amenities are available to new families to make your birthing
experience more comfortable and memorable, including a private family
waiting room, special dinner for mom and dad, instructions on basic care,
website
nursery, and lots of goodies to take home.
Check our event
calendar for a schedule of prenatal and other parenting
