The Medical-Surgical
Unit is where most patients spend the night at Craig General Hospital. Staff members provide care for adults and children who are hospitalized
to receive medications and treatments or those who are staying for recovery
from surgical procedures.
Our nursing staff has a wide variety of training and experience. Nurses
work with many other health professionals including doctors, social workers,
dieticians, physical, speech and occupational therapists, and respiratory
therapists in developing a plan of care for each individual patient.
Patients and their families are also involved in establishing priorities
for care that best meet their needs.
Although Craig General Hospital’s nurses manage highly technical
and complex care situations, it is often a nurse’s kind work, gentle
touch, calming smile, or silent presence that make a real difference
to our patients.
